Overview
La Prima is an award winning riserva from a well situated vineyard in front of Vicchiomaggio visible when you approach the estate from Florence on the SR 222 highway. The vineyard was one of the first in the area to be planted using the high density technique and the mature vines produce a fine offering. An uncompromising traditional Chianti Classico produced from the oldest vines on the estate. Yields are very low and the total production is never more than about 7,500 bottles, the wine is a rarity and quite unique. Very drinkable when released, will continue to improve for years and is a firm favourite with collectors.
