Overview
Torrione is made from pure Sangiovese grapes coming from the historical vines of the 70’s combined with some from more recent vineyards. The latter have been planted following extremely rigorous guidelines based on the number of vines per hectare and on strict zoning which enabled the winery to identify the best root stocks to use. The yield per plant was notably limited (max 500 g per vine plant) allowing the concentration of all the noble components of the grape, fundamental to the great structure, elegance and balance desired for this wine.

Reviews
Wine Spectator - October 2008 - James Suckling - 92 points
Very pretty aromas of flowers and berries, with hints of currant. Full-bodied, yet refined and elegant, with silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. A polished wine. Already delicious, but will be better with a little bottle age. Best after 2010. 3,750 cases made.
