The soil here is deep and chalky – perfect for the production of Planeta’s great white wines: Chardonnay and the rich Cometa, which is made with the fiano grape.

This full-throttle Chardonnay shows all-out barrel fermentation and bâtonnage character. Big and round, with lots going on in the glass. Finishes with opulent honey, caramel and butterscotch character. Drink now. 15,000 cases made. –JS
