Overview
Near the town of Fragagnano, in Apulia's Manduria region, Primitivo was established on 125 acres of vineyard in 2000. The endeavor was inspired by the great success Feudi di San Gregorio achieved in the neighboring region of Campania over the last 20 years. Primitivo seeks to revitalize this ancient wine making region, while bringing Apulia, the "heel" of Italy, to the forefront among world-class wine regions. Primitivo is the genetic parent of modern zinfandel. This wine has acheived the deep flavors of Zindfandel with pretty floral and bright fruit notes.
