Overview
The Mithas selection is a new style wine, in which a touch of “international” flavour is added to the wine. This is done through some viticultural practices such as using extremely low yields of fruit per vine and also via the use of French casks called barriques. In the cellar one finds medium toasted traditional barrels. There are French Nevers, Vosges and Limousin with various toastings. The wine is matured for 18 months in the casks. It is then cellared for additional time. The Ripasso technique is not used on this wine.

The Wine Advocate - Robert Parker -90 points
The 2004 Valpolicella Superiore Mithas is a massive, brooding wine loaded with ripe dark fruit, licorice, smoke and French oak. The wine possesses superior density, and richness in a full-throttle yet harmonious style of Valpolicella. Anticipated Maturity: 2008-2014
