Overview
This single vineyard Soave comes from one of Pieropan's top vineyards and is derived from low yields and attention to detail throughout the entire procedure from vineyard to vinification. Calvarino became a cru or single vineyard wine in 1971 and was one of the very first single vineyard Italian wines. This is an interesting fact, as we often associate cru wines with red wine production.

The Wine Advocate - Robert Parker -90 points
The 2006 Soave Classico Calvarino is 70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano. Honey, flowers, mint and ripe yellow fruits are all intermingled in this delicious white. The wine offers excellent length and a clean, minerally finish. This is a white that needs some time to open up, so it is best opened at least thirty minutes prior to serving. Anticipated Maturity: 2008-2012
