Overview
The wines of Giacomo Bologna are among the most famous of wines from Piemonte. In the 1960’s and early 70’s Giacomo was the first wine maker to realize the true potential of the Barbera grape. His vineyard philosophy was to reduce the yields of grapes in their vineyards. This was done at a time when yields were normally high as an industry standard. This move by him was considered revolutionary. A refreshing light wine that is easy to drink and meant to be drunk in its youth! Soil structure and climatic conditions are creating a wine with a pronounced minerality and an elegant acidity thus lifting the wine. A blend of Chardonnay and Nascetta, an indigenous Piedmontese variety.
