Planeta exploded onto the Italian wine scene in 1995 and found instant success including strong sales in Italian and foreign markets as well as high ratings with the international wine press. Carlo Corino is their winemaking consultant and he is one of Italy’s most famous consultants. The focus at Planeta has been that of the pursuit of quality since 1985 when they planted various clones to determine the best performing ones. They are located between Sambuca di Sicilia and Menfi in Western Sicily. This is a wine producing area that is currently one of the most exciting newly discovered zones in Italy. Planeta’s wines are a flavour packed international style that has appeal to many wine enthusiasts.
